8 Reasons You Should Play the Piano!

Has it always been a dream of yours to play the piano? Are you wondering, “Can I Play Piano?” I’m here to say, of course you can! I prepared this post for people just like you. When I started playing the piano I was five years old and to be honest it was bit challenging for a number of years. The importance of piano practice was not on my priority list, I mean let’s face it, I had chicks to hang out with! However I still kept at it and it was worth it. Not only did I quickly realize that “Chicks dig the guys who play the piano,” I also discovered my passion for playing the piano. So here’s a few reasons you should consider taking piano now. Don’t let others talk you out of it and say you can’t… because you CAN dangit! How’s that for a pep speech? Okay seriously…

1. It’s just FUN: You’re probably thinking, “OK, learning to play and read music is stinking hard and boring!” It’s all about having “joy in the journey.” Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, if you are not having fun, then you’re going about it the wrong way! You think the primary motive for most pianists is for the money? Think again.

2. Keeps Your Brain Active: Studies have shown that learning something new as an adult, such as the piano, helps keep your brain young and healthy. Piano playing also improves hand-eye coordination.

3. A Way to Express Your Emotions: In a chaotic world you may find your own interests and hobbies get the shaft and take a back seat. Creativity may feel like it doesn’t exist! When you learn to play the piano, you’ll find it’s a perfect companion for expressing yourself, whatever your mood may be.

4. A Way to Relieve Stress: We all have busy lives, listening to and playing music can provide great stress relief.

5. You’ll Never Be Bored Again: Bored? Play the piano! There’s always a new way to play, always a new approach to playing, and there are a TON of songs out there to learn regardless of your music tastes.

6. Guys, You Will Increase Your Chances with the Ladies: No joke, girls love the guys who can play the piano!

7. Be Done With Excuses: We’ve heard it time and time again, “I wish I could play the piano,” or “I’m too old to learn the piano.” You CAN play the piano and it’s never too late! If you’ve always wanted to, drop the excuses and LEARN!

8. It’s Good for Your Hands: Prevent hand aches and pains by playing the piano. I know I have stronger hands/fingers from playing. Plus, if you decide not to do piano anymore, you can get a job as a massage therapist due to all that piano playing you did!
