Mozart : A Leading Light In Opera

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg on January 27th 1756. Mozart’s father, Leopold Mozart, was a composer and violinist so the young Mozart grew up in a music-loving family. Opera Stars : Tchaikovsky

Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born to a reasonably well-off family on May 7th 1840 in Votkinsk Russia. The young Tchaikovsky was considered to be precocious and was already accomplished in the languages of German and French by the age of just 6. He began piano lessons at the age of 5 and showed a natural aptitude saying that music playing in his head kept him awake at night. Opera – Mozart

Mozart, who was born in Salzburg, spent a great deal of time learning about music from his father. He was taught so well, and picked up on things so quickly, that he was able to produce his first piece of composed music when he was 5 years old. Kenneth Macmillan – Facts & Information

Sir Kenneth MacMillan, although a dancer himself, is widely regarded for his contributions to choreography. Born in Dunfermline, Scotland on the 11th December 1929 to a working class family, Macmillan grew up in Great Yarmouth and took up dancing at the age of 12. Niobe – An Opera Everyone Should See

Italian composer Agostino Steffani (1654 – 1728) composed the opera Niobe, which premiered in Munich in 1688.
