Comparing The Guitar To Other Musical Instruments

One of the principal benefits of playing guitar is that it is such a popular instrument. This means that they are made everywhere in the world and the overall quality of entry-level and mid-grade instruments is increasing while the prices are actually decreasing. This means that unlike many other instruments where even a low quality model costs in the high hundreds or low thousands, you can buy a decent guitar for a few hundred dollars (especially if you look for a used model).

The size of a guitar is an attractive feature about the instrument. It makes them very comfortable to play (whether sitting or standing) and easy to store. Also, they are not very heavy so they are more comfortable to play for a long period than many other instruments. Another cool thing about guitar playing is that virtually everyone can play one because they are such a standard size that they suit most people’s anatomy perfectly.

There are very few limits on where you can play a guitar. They are so easy to transport because of their relatively small size and light weight that they can be taken anywhere.

The guitar is the ultimate instrument for any setting. You can play it by itself or with a band/group. Also, you can play it and sing or back up someone else who sings. There really is no need for any other instruments though as you can get great music from the guitar by itself.

Learning to play guitar can be easier than learning to play other instruments. It has a fairly small learning curve to get to the point where you can play a song. On many other instruments the time it takes to get to this level is much longer.

There are so many different kinds of guitars that you can find one for every setting or style. If you want to play quietly or play more clean styles, an acoustic guitar is perfect whereas if you want to play louder or play with effects, you can find tons of different electric guitars for whatever style you like. There really is no limit to the versatility a guitar can offer you. Even volume can be adjusted to suit any situation or setting.
