Freestyle Raps – Learn to Rap Like A Pro

Freestyle raps are vital to demonstrating a rappers skill in hip hop. If you can’t freestyle, then you will never gain the respect of your peers as a true MC. Fortunately, you can improve your freestyles by practicing the following exercises.

First, you need to increase your vocabulary. To do this, grab a dictionary and choose ten words that aren’t overly used like “sat” or “work”. Go for more interesting words like “sporadic,” “insolent” or intrepid.” Once you’ve got these words together, consult a rhyming dictionary (or use one online) and find 3-5 words that rhyme with each word. So for “intrepid” we could use “don’t test it,” second guessed it” or “tepid.” They don’t have to be perfect rhymes, just sound similar when you say them out loud.

One Time you’ve got a list of words and verses, memorize them and comprise them into your freestyle raps. Note that you are yet freestyling, but creating a list of verses you can focus more on what you want to suppose with the words or else of concentrating on the words themselves.

Now that you’re lexicon is all set, it’s time to step up your vocals. Most dope freestylers have interesting voices and many of them transfer their tone to express their emotions. You can use this as well. Merely freestyle in various emotions to broaden your scope; first, try rapping angry, then sad, then laid back. You won’t sound like Snoop Dogg right off the bat, but with practice you’ll soon recognize how to connect your emotions with your voice.

While practicing the following exercises, try spitting freestyle raps while watching TV or walking around a room. As you see something new, try to rap about it. If you get stuck, you always have your safe words. Once you feel comfortable rapping about new images, freestyle in front of a mirror and watch how you look while delivering the lines. Are you confident? Are you selling yourself effectively, or do you still seem shy? Imagine yourself starring in a hip hop video: would you want to watch this person in the mirror?

By coming these techniques, your freestyle raps will improve thanks to a huge vocabulary, your comfortableness with impromptu delivery and a better visual persona. Keep in mind this doesn’t happen on a Saturday; it needs a few weeks before you begin to notice results, but when you practice, it’s well valuable it!
