Miami Carnival – Trinidad and Tobago Carnival

Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is a festival that lasts over a month. The celebration will end in Port Spain, the capital of Trinidad, from Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and before Ash Wednesday. Trinidad and Tobago Carnival have varieties of events such as wearing elaborate costumes, street dancing, musical competition, rum and parties. If the Islanders were not going to celebrate a big event, they just make it as a simple festivity.

Before, they usually use Calypso as part of their musical celebration; but nowadays, they have replaced it with soca a musical style that have a fast beat. The significant components of the festival is wearing fantastic costumes, limbo and stick fighting competitions; if these are not present, it feels like incomplete.

The carnival that is celebrated in Trinidad and Tobago is celebrated also in some other cities worldwide in Rio de Janiero and other Brazilian countries. Like just in an ordinary festival, musical competitions are common, the competitors are practicing for more than a week in order to win. Because it was a big celebration, sometimes it is aired on the television. Calypso Monarch is one of the islands greatest rewards. Aside from this, the winners will receive also trophies, car, cash and sometimes a contract for endorsements.

The participants are very competitive in order to get the prize. The greatest reward that they will receive is the Calypso Monarch; aside from this are trophies, car or cash prizes. Because it is a big event, sometimes, the competition is being televised. There is also competition of elaborate costumes, and the winner will be entitled as the bands king and queen. Customarily, the musicians make use of non electrical instruments such as drums, steel pans and claves; all these were created in Trinidad.

The participants are practicing for almost a week to win the competition. Trinidad and Tobago are multicultural and all of its clusters are festival. Just like the other festivals, Trinidad and Tobago Festivity is also wearing creative costumes, often decorated with feathers and sequins. The participants are really preparing for it. Those costumed participants are dancing on the street with the beat of music. One of the most exciting part is that the locals and tourist also jamming with them.

Children can also be one of the participants in the festival and their event is called kiddies carnival. Since the carnival also a part of national curriculum, the festival can present in different schools. Those in higher professions, they will also create a small celebration in towns, small cities or villages.
