Sergei Prokofiev One Fine Composer

Music. It is said to soothe the savage beast. This greatly depends on the course of the music for if it is hard, and barbaric, there will not be much comfort. Words do not always describe how we feel for, there are not enough words for our emotions. It is nice to have classical refrains but, without a writer, they will never emerge. The composer Sergei Prokofiev is remembered for being one of the greatest.

His birth happened in a tiny hamlet that was named Sontsovka, many years ago. Now, the place is named Krasne, and is in Ukraine. Sergei Alekseievich was the name of his father, and his mom was named Mariya Zitkova. For some reason, the children Mariya bore did not live past their infant ages. Since this happened, it left Prokofiev as the only child. Needless to explain, he became their pride, and joy, and tended to be indulged.

Mariya was a very intelligent woman who grew up poor. This did not stop her from getting a proper education. Everything she had learned, she administered to her little man. Her husband taught him about natural sciences, while she taught him the knowledge of arts. Governesses were brought in to teach him various European languages.

Piano classes began for him when his fourth year came. Shortly thereafter, he was discovered to have magnificent lyrical talents. Apparently, his mind was good at viewing certain obstacles, even at this young age, and he exhibited a talent for chess, as well. He loved this entertainment so much, that he competed with chess advocates of that time period.

The opera stage was a place highly visited by Prokofiev, and his mom. Every chance she had, she did not fail to have him there. He would listen intensively to each movement, and noticed that his admiration grew with each visitation. Before he was ten years of age, he composed an opera named, ‘The Giant’. Before his twelfth year, he worked on his first symphony.

It was Prokofiev’s love to produce exactly what he wanted. In doing this, he became somewhat of a rebellious soul. Critics claimed his arrangements deserved to be brought along some time in the future. It appears playing keys at the same time, was considered greatly taboo, and this is a form he tried. Many saw him as brilliant, and others found him egotistic.

Sergei Prokofiev had insight which only grasps a few individuals. He wanted to share his enjoyment with others even if it meant he would be ostracized. He started suffering many heart attacks, about 12 years prior to his death. He died March 5, 1953, the exact same day Stalin died. Stalin was appraised more important, so all real flowers were used for his funeral, while paper flowers were for Sergei’s funeral.
