The Best Acoustic Guitar Lesson

Through the years I have had the privilege of meeting lots of new students and teaching loads of acoustic guitar lessons. The students have learned a lot but I believe i have learned just as much or even more. Everyone who comes to me for acoustic guitar lessons has different goals and different levels of motivation. It’s my job to understand what their goals are together with decide their degrees of determination and dedication. After I know that I can begin to put together appropriate acoustic guitar lessons for them.

It makes sense from a business perspective because after they reach what they’ve set out to do they’ll keep coming back for more since what I teach them delivers results.

Secondly and perhaps more importantly it will help me to feel good about delivering great quality lessons to them so they get far more value than what they paid for. It’s truly a win-win circumstance.

So let’s return to that word perfect. It sounds great. ‘The Perfect Acoustic Guitar Lesson’ but regrettably it doesn’t exist. There’s no such thing as perfection as we’re always trying to accomplish more and to be a lot better than we currently are. Therefore if perfection is really a moving target why aim for that? On the other hand target something which is concrete and real. Like learning new strumming patterns so that you can spice up your rhythm playing and breathe new life to the songs you currently know. Once I realize that is exactly what a student is after then i can finally get moving on providing a lesson that is ‘perfect’ for them based upon their goals.

That same lesson could be a complete disaster for another person who just wants to learn some fingerpicking so that he can serenade his girlfriend. This is why there is no universal perfect acoustic guitar lesson. So instead of spending too much time online searching for the perfect lesson rather get crystal clear about what it is you’re after and discover someone who will be able to accomplish that and teach it for you.
